Workshop Description:
Unleash the power of storytelling to inspire and enact social change! In this dynamic workshop, participants will explore the intersection of activism and playwriting through engaging study and interactive games. Whether you’re an experienced playwright or new to the stage, this session will guide you in transforming your passions and concerns into the seeds of a theatrical work.

Target Audience:
This workshop is designed for beginning to advanced playwrights and artists interested in devised theatre who are eager to use their craft to make an impact.

Kelsey Rain is a Native American playwright with an MFA in Theatre with an emphasis in Playwriting from University of Idaho, where she also studied indigenous theatre, queer theatre, feminist theatre, and theatre for social change. She has acted, sang, directed, and dramaturged professionally, but her true passion is creating original works. Two of her plays were Finalists for Native Voices Playwright retreat. She also assistant directed the play Marisol at Idaho State University, which received many KCACTF awards including one for creating a brave rehearsal space.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
