ORIGINAL SHORTS Competition Now Open to Submissions!

We are pleased to announce that Theatre du Mississippi is now accepting submissions of original one-act plays for our Original Shorts Playwriting Competition!

From now until December 31, 2014, we will be accepting short plays from area writers.

We consider “area” writers as anyone with a postal mailing address in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Iowa.  For the purposes of the competition, we consider a short play to be between 15 and 45 minutes in running time (approximately 15 to 45 pages of script) and only one-act.

Scripts will be read by at least two readers and finalists will be judged by a panel of paid, independent judges.  Winning scripts will be given a staged reading in April 2015 and the playwrights will received a $50 honorarium.
